The growth process in a photo.

What is your perspective?
Life is not always as it seems. I've come to realize there are layers to our experiences no matter whether a walk on the beach or down a city street, a conversation, an educational challenge, or a new adventure. No matter where we are or what we are doing, there are definitive layers to what is happening.

Those layers could be thought of as different perspectives. Photographers might consider them as angles. I think we could talk for hours about how feelings get involved, history, a sense of future, spiritual and philosophical orientation, family, even outlooks or attitudes. Each one of us would have input here.

For me, those layers of experience enable growth: individual and group growth. Perhaps there are new and interesting insights. Personal hurts may come to light. Enthusiasm, eagerness to learn and knowledge is shared as doors close and windows open into new opportunities. Relationships develop, and in the end, we could find a sense of peace or possibly a new sense of balance in our hectic living.

My photo today is layered. It is a picture of a sidewalk in the Adirondacks combined with a photo of a succulent plant from the Buffalo Botannical Gardens. Simple. Complicated.

After making changes in the hue and saturation, the ending photo looks golden and hopefully reflects my optimistic respect for the growing process, its detours, inspiration, and celebration. From where I sit, growth is golden. What is your perspective? Can you make a photo that registers your view of the growth process?

Comments reflect your viewpoint. I hope you will share.
