Snow photography has its challenges.

Trail ride memories and snow photography come together.
Every once in a while I have an opportunity to enjoy dear friends and horses at the same time. It makes me smile when I hear the kids chatter about their horses. I am even more elated when I feel the spirit they share with each other. That is priceless.

Through their connection with horses, these teens build memories that infect them with a wonderful sense of belonging. When school stresses overwhelm, the horses bring them peace. After deadlines are met and tests are taken, they come together in their horsemanship and laugh over funny stories from their week.

Riding in the snow is particular fun. With the horses picking up their feet higher than normal, it's like riding a grand champion to music. Of course, I usually have my camera handy so I can capture moments to be treasured come summertime. I'm challenged often by bright snow photography. However, I've learned that polarizer, filters and the recovery tool in Photoshop are helpful.

Comments welcome, especially if you love to ride in the snow.
